No need for on-ground infrastructure with WAVA

WAVA's GPS-based localisation technology allows you to place digital artworks anywhere, requiring no on-ground infrastructure or signage. Being a not-for-profit company (gGmbH) means that each exhibition realised on the platform actively supports the infrastructure and the other exhibitions on view as well.

Together, we can keep the augmented space accessible to cultural happenings, artistic interventions, and hybrid communal gatherings.

Can I upload my own pieces or curate my own show?

We are currently working on a simplified upload system to create exhibitions directly from your devices. In the meantime, please feel free to get in touch directly to find custom solutions for your exhibition needs.

Is the App free?

The app is free for everybody to experience the presented artworks.

Is the App compatible with my device?

As the app is for geolocated augmented reality experiences, you should use a mobile device (e.g., Smartphones, Tablets) with a functioning camera, GPS and Augmented Reality capacity.

Can I use it on multiple devices?

Sure!

How do I navigate through the app?

You find a short tutorial here of how to use the app.

Is the WAVA app available for both Android and iOS?

Yes. You can download it in the App Store or in the Google Play Store.

Can I view the exhibitions remotely?

As the artworks are site-specific, they can only be viewed in locations.

I'm experiencing technical issues. What should I do?

Check if the app has access to your location and camera. This is necessary for the app to work. Make sure you switch the sound on for audio content. The experiences are accessible only on-site. You can see if you're close enough to the experience when you see the "SHOW EXPERIENCE" on the map.
